Post Default install keyboard
on: January 6, 2010, 21:23

The default keyboard used in the server installation is the english – great britain keyboard. During the install, at one point an email address has to be entered for, as I recall, the ldap administrator. The address cannot be entered because the @ key on the US keyboard is at a different location. I had to research it on the internet to find out where the @ key is on an english – GB keyboard. The @ key on the great britain keyboard is at shift ” on a us english keyboard, so the only way to enter the administrator’s email address is by using shift ” to insert an @. After the system has been installed, then the keyboard can be changed to us. Perhaps the installation program can be modified so that it accepts other keyboards and locations before it gets to the point where it has to have an email address entered.

Thanks,

Walt
